The masks are used in the theaters where the individuals give a live performance. Their use can be seen through the different theatrical arenas throughout the world such as Japan, US, UK, etc., where the artists wear masks to portray different characters. This trend has gained a lot of popularity throughout the world and a lot of artists in theaters of different countries are now incorporating this in their plays. The mask based theater has gotten its true recognition by Horse and Bamboo Theater, which was founded in 1978.
